Breath 101

The world seems to be collectively waiting to exhale as shifts in our social environment have put breathing under a microscope over the last year. As we settle into the adjustments of the new reality we live in now more than ever the cultivation of breath and sacredness of its consciousness is at the forefront of our attention. The name of the game is adaptation and responsiveness, two of the most important things the breath modulates and one of the simplest things we can cultivate daily for vitality and creative expression! 

Breath and the development of its function in our body is at the core of all mental, physical and emotional well-being! I feel in love with the study of breath through the art of qi gong when I was in my late teenage years. Qi gong was the precursor foundation to my deep dive study and practice of integrative medicine, martial arts and health empowerment. Over almost 2 decades of clinical practice and community health education I learned that everything begins and ends in life  with the breath; wether that be how we relate to the world, speak our truths, train our bodies or express our arts.

As I dug deeper into the intimacy of my own practices with the breath, I in turn couldn’t wait to share this knowledge with my clients and students!  I have spent many years supporting individuals through the practice of Rolfing, Dao yin yoga, energy medicine and teaching Qi gong and martial arts to help individuals activate and enhance a relationship to their breath  while embracing the important role breath plays in health and the practice of all self expression.  

 I’m excited to present to you this free Breath 101 course as a reminder that the gift of breath holds unlimited spaces to journey, master and engage with throughout life. This course is a culmination of many years of study, practice and a simple distillation  of three foundational experiences to activate and enhance your relationship to your breath. The course covers philosophy around breath through learning about the spiritually, physiology, structure and role that breath plays in our lives.
